Please read these before signing up.
1. The Promoter
These competitions are run by King Carp Competitions Ltd, whose registered office is at 77 Leicester Ave, Cleveleys, Lancashire, FY5 2DW. This is also our correspondence address.
If you need to get in touch with us for any reason, please message the facebook page or use the support ticketing system in the dashboard — we're always happy to help.
2. The competition
2.1. These terms and conditions apply to every competition listed on our website at https://kingcarpcompetitions.co.uk (the "Website").
2.2. All of our competitions are skill-based. An entry fee is charged for each online entry submitted. The Competition Question is designed to require the exercise of skill, knowledge, or judgement and is intended to prevent a significant proportion of people from participating or receiving a prize. We also provide a free postal entry route.
2.3. Every person who enters (an "Entrant") must correctly answer the question or problem we set for that competition (the "Competition Question") to be in with a chance of winning.
3. How to enter
3.1. Each competition runs between the opening and closing dates shown on the Website (the "Opening Date" and "Closing Date"). All times and dates are based on London, England.
3.2. We reserve the right to adjust the Opening or Closing Date where genuinely necessary. Any changes will be reflected on the Website promptly. We will not push back a Closing Date simply to generate more ticket sales.
3.3. Entries must reach us before the stated time on the Closing Date. Late entries may be disqualified without a refund.
3.4. The maximum number of entries per competition will be stated on the Website. Once that cap is reached, no further entries can be taken.
3.5. You may enter as many times as you like, up to your individual limit and the overall competition cap. Each free postal entry must be submitted separately — bulk submissions will only be counted as a single entry.
3.6. To enter online: (a) visit the Website and read the Competition Question; (b) choose your answer and select how many entries you want; (c) complete your details and proceed through checkout; (d) finish payment to receive your confirmation and allocated ticket number(s). You can repeat this process up to the maximum entries permitted per person.
3.7. All entries must be in English. Entries submitted in any other language will be disqualified without a refund.
3.8. Once we receive your paid entry, you'll be able to see your tickets in the dashboard along with your ticket number(s).
3.9. We cannot accept responsibility for entries that fail to reach us due to equipment failure, connectivity issues, or any other technical problem beyond our control.
3.10. By purchasing entries and submitting your competition entry, you are entering into a binding agreement with us and accepting these terms and conditions in full. Please also read our Privacy Policy carefully before entering.
3.11. To enter for free by post: (a) write your entry on an unenclosed postcard and send it by first or second class post to: King Carp Competitions Ltd, 77 Leicester Ave, Cleveleys, Lancashire, FY5 2DW; (b) hand-delivered entries will not be accepted; (c) your postcard must clearly state: (i) your full name; (ii) your full home address; (iii) a contact phone number and email address; and (iv) which competition you are entering and your answer to the Competition Question; (d) incomplete or illegible entries will be disqualified; (e) you may submit multiple free postal entries for the same competition up to any stated limit, but each must be posted separately — multiple entries in one envelope count as a single entry; (f) by entering, you confirm you are eligible and agree to these terms; (g) your postcard must arrive before the Closing Date — proof of posting does not guarantee entry; (h) we will not confirm receipt of your entry or whether your answer is correct; (i) if the entry cap is reached before your postal entry arrives, you will not be included in the draw; (j) you must have a registered account on the Website and the details on your postcard must match your account exactly — postal entries without a matching account cannot be processed.
4. Choosing a winner
4.1. All Entrants who answer the Competition Question correctly will be entered into a random draw. The draw will take place as soon as reasonably possible after the Closing Date.
4.2. Entrant names and ticket numbers may be included in a spreadsheet that is published on the Website or displayed during the live draw. If you'd prefer your name to be left out, please email us at [email protected] at least 48 hours before the draw.
For any questions about your entry, please get in touch using the support ticket system.
5. Eligibility
5.1. Our competitions are open to residents of mainland Great Britain aged 18 and over. The following people are not eligible to enter: (a) our employees; (b) employees of any agents or suppliers involved in running the competition; or (c) immediate family members or members of the same household as anyone in (a) or (b).
5.2. By entering, you confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements. We may ask you to provide proof at any stage. If you're unable to do so within a reasonable timeframe, you may be disqualified.
5.3. We will not accept entries that are (a) generated by automated software or bots; or (b) incomplete.
5.4. We reserve the right to disqualify any Entrant whose behaviour goes against the spirit of the competition, including anyone who is abusive or threatening towards us or anyone involved in running the competition.
5.5. Subject to clause 11.3, entry fees are generally non-refundable once a valid entry has been submitted, except where required by law or expressly stated in these terms.
5.6. If an Entrant is found to have engaged in (a) any form of fraud; (b) fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) fraudulent concealment; (d) hacking or interference with our website; or (e) unauthorised modification of any website code — all of their entries will be voided, no refunds will be issued, and they may be excluded from all future competitions.
6. The prize
6.1. The prize for each competition (the "Prize") is described on the relevant page of the Website. All prize details are, to the best of our knowledge, accurate as of the Opening Date.
6.2. All prizes are subject to availability. We reserve the right to substitute any prize with an alternative of equal or greater value. If prize details change, we will update the Website as quickly as possible.
6.3. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any prize information shown on the Website. Where the Prize is a vehicle: (a) it will include a valid MOT unless otherwise stated; (b) insurance is not provided — the winner is responsible for arranging adequate cover before driving on public roads; (c) once the vehicle has been handed over, we bear no further responsibility for it; (d) vehicle or road tax is not included; (e) the winner is solely responsible for sourcing any required safety equipment and for operating the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.
6.4. Some prizes may be fulfilled by a third-party supplier. Where this is the case, relevant details will be shown on the Website.
6.5. We reserve the right to offer a cash alternative to the Prize where (a) the Prize is no longer available; or (b) circumstances beyond our reasonable control make it necessary.
6.6. Prizes may not be transferred prior to being claimed.
7. Winners
7.1. Our decisions on all competition matters are final. We will not enter into correspondence or debate regarding any outcome.
7.2. The winner's full name will be announced during the live draw. If you would prefer your name not to be announced during the live draw, please get in touch using the support ticket system well before the draw takes place. We are not responsible for interruptions, technical failures, or outages affecting any live draw broadcast, provided the draw itself is conducted fairly and validly.
7.3. We will contact the winner personally as soon as possible after the Draw Date, using the details provided at the time of entry. If we cannot reach the winner, or they have not claimed their Prize within 21 days of the Draw Date, we reserve the right to select an alternative winner at random from the remaining valid entries. That alternative winner will then have 21 days to accept the Prize. This process will continue until the Prize is accepted.
7.4. We are required by law to confirm publicly that a valid prize draw took place. To meet this obligation, we will publish the full name and county or town of each major prize winner on the Website.
7.5. If you object to any of your details being made public, please get in touch using the support ticket system before the Closing Date. Please be aware that we may still be required to share certain information with the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
8. Claiming the prize
8.1. All prizes must be claimed personally by the winner. We cannot release a prize to a third party acting on your behalf. Details of how your Prize will be delivered or made available for collection will be set out on the Website or provided on request.
8.2. If your contact details change at any point, please get in touch using the support ticket system. Include the competition name, your old details, and your updated details. Changes received within 10 days of the Closing Date may not be processed in time, and we may need to use your previous contact information to reach you.
8.3. Cash prizes will be paid directly into the winner's nominated bank account. The winner must confirm they are the sole or joint account holder within 14 days, or they will be disqualified and the prize forfeited.
8.4. We accept no responsibility and will not provide compensation if you are unable to or choose not to take up your prize.
8.5. Where the Prize is a vehicle, ownership will be transferred via the V5 document once all eligibility checks have been completed. The V5 transfer must be finalised before the vehicle is handed over.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, King Carp Competitions Ltd, its agents, and distributors will not be liable for any loss, damage, personal injury, or death arising from taking up a prize, unless directly caused by our own negligence or that of our employees. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Data protection and publicity
10.1. By entering a competition, you agree that any personal information you provide may be held and used by us and our agents solely to administer the competition, in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on the Website.
10.2. If you win, you agree that we may use your name, image, and general location to announce and publicise the result. You also agree to take part in any reasonable promotional activity we may request.
10.3. If you do not wish to take part in any publicity, please let us know before the Closing Date. This will not affect your chances of winning. Please be aware that we may still be legally required to provide certain information to the Advertising Standards Authority to confirm the competition was properly conducted.
10.4. As a winner, you may be asked to provide additional personal information and identity verification to confirm your eligibility and allow the Prize to be transferred to you. Where we rely on your consent to process personal data, you may withdraw that consent at any time, but doing so may prevent us from releasing the Prize to you — in which case you will be deemed to have forfeited it and will not be entitled to a refund.
10.5. Under data protection law, you have the right to ask us to stop contacting you and to remove your details from our records. Exercising this right means you will be withdrawing from any active competition, and we will be unable to contact you if you win. No refund of entry fees will be given upon withdrawal. To stop receiving marketing communications, please get in touch using the support ticket system before the Closing Date.
11. General
11.1. We may update these terms from time to time for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. Any material changes will not affect competitions already entered unless required by law or unavoidable circumstances.
11.2. If we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, we may disqualify the person involved from the current and any future competitions.
11.3. We reserve the right to void, suspend, cancel, or modify a competition if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary. In such cases, all entry fees paid will be refunded in full.
11.4. There is no minimum number of entries required for a competition to go ahead. We will not void, extend, or suspend a competition due to low participation. The draw will take place and the Prize will be awarded regardless of how many entries were received.
11.5. By entering, you acknowledge and agree that this promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook or Meta, and that neither Facebook nor Meta has any liability in connection with the competition.
11.6. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11.7. We recommend saving or printing a copy of these terms and conditions for your own records.
12. Anti Money Laundering Policy

12.2. We take financial crime prevention seriously as part of our wider responsibility to our customers and community. Our systems and processes are designed to protect against abuse.

12.5. A secure, up-to-date record of all registered users is maintained at all times.
12.6. Identity and transaction documentation is retained for each registered user in line with legal requirements.

12.8. This policy is reviewed and updated on a regular basis to maintain compliance.
12.9. We investigate the background and purpose of any unusually large, complex, or suspicious transactions that may indicate money laundering or terrorist financing.
12.10. We do not permit anonymous accounts or accounts registered under fictitious names.
12.11. We do not register anyone under the age of 18.
12.12. Each individual may only hold one registered account.
12.13. Where possible, all winnings and refunds are returned via the same payment method originally used.
12.14. We do not accept cash payments. All transactions must be made via our approved payment methods.
12.15. We reserve the right to close or suspend any account where false information was provided during registration.
12.16. Any suspicion of money laundering or terrorist financing will be reported to the appropriate authorities without delay.
12.17. We cooperate fully with all relevant regulatory, enforcement, and judicial bodies in efforts to prevent and detect criminal activity.
13. Fair Play, Abuse of Free Giveaways and other terms and conditions.
14.0. One Account Per Person
14.1. Every participant is permitted one account on King Carp Competitions. This rule is strictly enforced.
14.2. Creating multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage — particularly in free giveaways — is not permitted and will result in action being taken.
15.0. Detection and Consequences
15.1. We actively monitor for suspicious account behaviour and reserve the right to investigate any participant we believe may be operating more than one account.
15.2. Where multiple accounts are confirmed, all associated entries will be disqualified and the participant may be permanently banned from our platform.
16.0. Invalid Wins and Redistribution
16.1. Any prize won through the use of multiple accounts will be considered invalid and forfeited.
16.2. Forfeited prizes will either be relisted as a new competition or awarded to a qualifying participant who entered legitimately with a single account.
17.0. Paid Competition Eligibility
17.1. Our free giveaways are a benefit for our community and are not intended to be exploited. We are committed to keeping all competitions fair and ensuring every participant has an equal chance.
18.0. Final Decision

19.0. Payment Processor
19.1. Card payments are processed securely by third-party payment providers and we do not have access to full card details.

22.0 Severability
22.1. If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
23.0 Complaints Procedure
23.1. Any complaints relating to a competition should first be submitted through our support ticket system. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.
